Grow Your Online Home Business By Helping Others Generate Internet Income
Copyright 2007 © Cynthia Minnaar

Many of the programs on the internet give you the opportunity to generate internet income by recruiting others into the business and by offering your help as a sponsor to the new recruits will certainly help grow your online home business.

There have been many times in the past where I have signed up for an affiliate program but never heard a word or received an email from my sponsor. This is surely one way of not only leaving money on the table but also leaving new recruits feeling all alone and unwelcome and must certainly contribute to the high number of people who never generate internet income from an online home business.

Helping others by showing them what you do to generate internet income need only cost you your time as all communication can be done by email. You could set up a series of training emails in your auto-responder, detailing exactly the steps you have taken to get where you are, or have a section on your online home business website dedicated to helping your new recruits.

Some programs will reveal who your sponsor is and ways of contacting them, but others don’t and so it is a good idea to always send a welcome email to a new recruit by letting them know you are their sponsor and that they are welcome to contact you with any queries or questions.

Some sponsors may feel they do not know enough about the business to help a new recruit and therefore rather ignore them and omit to send an email at all. One of the best ways to learn is by teaching others and this in a way will actually accelerate your own online home business and internet income.

Many times the new recruit will not even respond to your welcome email and choose to go it alone, but at least you have made the effort to contact them and offer your assistance.

Others will be thrilled and reassured to hear from you and take you up on your offer of assistance and are more than willing to implement the internet marketing strategies that are working for you. It is through these people that your internet income will increase.

A very small percentage of people, whilst being so thankful for all your help, unfortunately fail to get into action and actually do the work and implement your strategies and you will be the first person they contact to complain bitterly that they are not generating internet income, what a useless sponsor you are and that the whole online home business is a scam!

The few people who react like this should not even worry you if you have done your best in trying to help them.

But, in the long run it really is worth being the best sponsor you can, because you will benefit from helping those that run with your suggestions and start generating an income on the internet themselves.

You may well receive some difficult questions from new recruits, but this encourages you to spend some time finding out more about the program and increases your knowledge which will certainly benefit you as well.

Many programs have a forum where you can always post the question that you are unable to answer and more often than not you will receive a response from those who have more experience and knowledge. Your knowledge will now certainly have increased and you will be able to respond to your new recruit in a positive constructive way.

Simply by taking the time to welcome and help new members that you recruit will certainly pay big dividends in the form of helping others generate internet income instead of quitting and at the same time growing your own online home business.

Great article, Cyn!

I had already begun writing helpful info. in my blog for my team members, and I can always use it in my autoresponder in the future.

I take it you have been called a bad sponsor before, or have at least seen it happen?

How do you respond to people that would label you a bad sponsor?

Hi Dave

Yes, I have experienced it!!! When things were going well for this particular affiliate, I was a great sponsor, but as soon as he hit a 'hump' or 'challenge' then I was the worst sponsor and the whole program was a scam!!!.

How did I handle it!! I'll be honest, this scenario went on for a couple of months and I began to dread to see an email in my inbox from him. I was always polite in my responses and kept my cool and continued supporting him with useful information.

But, at the end of the day I basically knew that he wasn't working or intended implementing any suggestions I made and I just sat it out until I finally received an email to say 'I Quit' - in this case I was relieved.

Then, can you believe it I received an email a couple of weeks later asking me to join his new venture as he thought I would be a great asset to his team!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, in this case, I did not respond!!

Cheers
Cyn

LOL

"I'm gonna start all over, and you should be under me in my team, and maybe you could be good."

Wow! I mean, we have the responsibility of teaching, guiding, and encouraging, but we're not their parents. They still have to learn things for themselves, and do the work.

It's just not right when someone expects you to make their business successful!

Hi Dave

I think this was a classic case of "you can take a horse to water but you cannot make him drink".

We have to keep searching for the "thirsty" ones!!!

Cheers

Hi Cyn,

Nice Article.

I have to say I have not been contacted by any of my sponsors with the exception of co-op notifications for SFI. But I have not let this bother me though because I don't expect some one else to build my business. It would have been nice though just for them to acknowledge that I had joined under them.

I have to admit that I have not contacted any one that I am the sponsor for either, mainly be cause I didn't know any better. This is one of my goals for 2008 to learn how to be a good sponsor, which goes along with learning to write and type which I am not good at either.
